Chetan Bhagat is an Indian author, columnist, and screenwriter, renowned for his English-language novels. Born on April 22, 1974, in New Delhi, he holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.

After completing his studies, Bhagat pursued a career in international investment banking. However, in 2009, he left this career to fully dedicate himself to his true passion: writing. He also writes columns for various Hindi and English newspapers and journals.

The New York Times has described him as the biggest-selling English-language novelist in India's history. His novels often reflect the lives of common middle-class people in India. India Today considers him a "symbol of new India and a torch-bearer for an unafraid generation." Millions of copies of his books are sold every year, and he is known for his simple, accessible English without difficult vocabulary.

Chetan's Family
He is married to Anusha, his classmate from IIM, and they live in Mumbai with their twin sons, Shyam and Ishaan.
