Chetan Bhagat's Revolution Twenty 20
Chetan Bhagat's book takes steps to suggest youthful solutions for reducing corruption in society and highlights the flawed education system in India. Speaking at various conclaves and writing columns in national newspapers, Bhagat has often supported recent anti-corruption movements. However, despite its title, "Revolution 2020" touches on revolution and mass movements against corruption only briefly. The book also sheds light on the entrance exam coaching racket, the exploitation of hopeful students, and the proliferation of private colleges, many of which have sprung up on farmland across India in the last decade.
"Revolution 2020: Love, Corruption, Ambition" set a record on its launch day, selling over 500,000 copies. While the title might suggest a narrative about a significant societal change, the discussion of corruption and flaws in the education system is limited to a few pages. The readability and simplicity of the language are classic Chetan Bhagat. Though it is a typical "masala" novel with elements of love, scandal, and corruption, it remains a fast-paced, engaging read, beloved by thousands of readers across India.
