Making India Awesome - New Essays and Columns by Chetan Bhagat
The goal of the book is to provide readers with an understanding of the most complicated issues faced by the country today, including poverty, religious extremism, unemployment, discrimination against women, and communal violence. In Authors point of view there are three kinds of people.
- Self-focused indifferent Indians
- Caring but aligned Indians
- Caring objective Indians
Eighty percent of people fit into the first type of "Self-focused Indifferent Indians," who are just concerned with their personal lives and well-being and have no interest in politics or the events happening in their country.
Sixteen percent of Indians fall into the second group, "Caring but Aligned Indians." Though they support a certain political party, these people are concerned about national affairs and political developments. They support their party's positions on any national topic and base their opinions on those positions. Because of their biased viewpoints, even if they might make a lot of noise on social media, they don't really add anything to practical solutions.
The remaining four percent of Indians can be classified as "Caring objective Indians." These are folks who have not taken sides and who sincerely care about the nation and political concerns. In public discussions, this group is typically marginalized or yelled out. The book "Making India Awesome" attempts to connect with these kind and goal-oriented Indians and bring their numbers up from a scant four percent to a noteworthy total.

Conclusion: In his book, the Chetan employs straightforward language and ideas. It conveys to readers that they should give up on pointless argument theatrics and instead offer original suggestions for improving the state of the country.
Critics gave "Making India Awesome" varying ratings. Bhagat's admirers valued his attempt to discuss significant national concerns and his capacity to simplify difficult concepts into thoughts that are both clear and practical. An attempt is made in Chethan's book to discuss and provide solutions for some of India's major problems. Its strength comes in its accessibility and the practical, action-oriented approach it advocates, even though it might not offer in-depth academic study. This book is an excellent read for readers looking for an accessible overview of some of India's current problems and possible solutions.
